Alka Lamba is an Indian Politician and a former member of the Aam Aadmi Party and she previously appeared with Indian National Congress. In 1994, Alka Lamba started her political career by joining the National Students Union of India as a Delhi State Girl Convenver, and then she won the Delhi University Students Union election for the post of president in 1995.
She was appointed as the President of India NSUI in 1997 and appointed the General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress. She served as the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee at the Indian National Congress and she left this party and joined Aam Aadmi Party in 2003. Alka Lamba won the Delhi Legislative Assembly election from Chandni Chowk Constituency in 2015.
Alka Lamba was born on 21 September 1975 in New Delhi, India. She is the daughter of Amar Nath Lamba and Raj Kumari Lamba. She studied at Delhi University to Complete her BSC and then enrolled at Bundelkhand University to complete her MSc in Chemistry and then enrolled in Master of Education Bundelkhand University to complete her M.Ed. Alka Lamba had married Lokesh Kapoor but divorced and they have one child.
